SOUTH PARIS — Francis W. Twitchell Sr., 74, of Norway passed away Friday, July 13, at Market Square Health Care Center. Non Hodgkins Lymphoma claimed the life of a fine man.

He was born in Lewiston, April 23, 1938, son of Herbert Howard and Edna Bertha (Yates) Twitchell.

He was a graduate of Barnstable High School in Barnstable, Mass. He was in the Order of the Arrow. He received certification of First Mate from the Hyannis Yacht Club. He was a boat builder, carpenter and construction worker.

Francis was married to his childhood sweetheart, Ilene, for 50 years and they had six children together.

He is survived by his wife, Ilene and children, Richard, Sheila Quimby, Michael, Terrie Pearsall, Francis Jr., and Francine Davey; three sisters, Virginia Chichester and Lorrain Harmon of Florida, and Gail Pipatti of Vermont; 26 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous friends, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, H. Howard and Edna Twitchell; two brothers, Maurice and George; several aunts and uncles; and one grandson, Brandon.

Francis was much loved and will greatly be missed.
