Last year, the Red Sox were the best team in baseball for much of the year. The second half can be summed up with two words — beer and chicken. Sorry, as a true fan of the Sox, it is still difficult to talk about the collapse of last season.

There have been some good moments — the 100-year celebration that the owners put on earlier in the season was impressive (they had to give fans something to cheer about).

I haven’t figured out what the problems are with this year’s team but I don’t think you can blame their lack of performance on injuries.

They can’t seem to achieve a winning record at Fenway, which is very unusual, or much of a winning record away, either. They will play some really good games, then play some atrocious ones. Back and forth; back and forth.

They are getting paid way too much money to be sub-par, again.

Come on, Red Sox, get things going and don’t embarrass me the rest of the year. I am a fan who gets her nails done in Red Sox colors when I attend our family Red Sox game at Fenway. Please give me something to cheer about the rest of this season.
