NORWAY — Singers, dancers and the public are invited to a reading of “The Road to Eden’s Ridge, the Musical” on Monday, July 23, at the Norway Memorial Library.

Author Sally Jones and composer Steve Jones are completing their three-year process of creating the musical based on the novel “The Road to Eden’s Ridge,” by M. L. Rose. This fall, they will bring the popular book to the Oxford Hills Music and Performing Arts stage in Norway as “The Road to Eden’s Ridge, the Musical.”

People attending the 7 p.m. reading will get to know the roles in the play; hear the songs; meet the producers, the author and composer; and hear the show read by a group of volunteers.

The 1998 novel was co-written by Myra McLarey, a former teacher at Oxford Hills High School, who now lives in the Nashville area. She will be at the reading.

Auditions for the large cast will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 6-7, at Wheeler Insurance Agency, 15 Market Square, South Paris.

The premiere of “The Road to Eden’s Ridge, the Musical” will open Nov. 9.
