Lawrence and Harriett Estes of South Paris climb onto a wagon with two buckets of wild blueberries at Henrickson’s Blueberry Farm in Oxford on Thursday. The picking season started two weeks earlier than normal, said Julie Bergeron, far left, who grows 40 acres of berries on her family farm. “We have not had a bumper crop, but it has been better than we thought we were going to have,” she said. “First thing I do is make my blueberry cake,” Harriett Estes said. “I like her blueberry muffins,” Lawrence Estes said about his wife’s hand in the kitchen. What is left of the 40 pounds of berriess that the Estes picked will be given to family, friends and put into the freezer.
