AUBURN — The Good Shepherd Food Bank was the recent recipient of a $5,000 donation from the Northeast chapter of the Dunkin’ Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation.

The donation was part of a $50,000 grant that the foundation gave to 12 regional food banks across the Northeast. Good Shepherd will use the grant to feed children in Maine experiencing food insecurity by funding a new Backpack Program in an Augusta elementary school for the 2012-2013 school year. It will provide funding for food and supplies to feed as many as 40 kids on weekends and school vacations for one school year.
