LEXINGTON, Mass. – The American Camp Association, New England has awarded eight Maine camps with American Camp Association Campership Funds. Overall, 64 ACA accredited day and overnight camps across all six New England states, plus one in New York, have received camperships on behalf of specific campers. The funds for each camper will go directly to each of the receiving camps.

The eight Maine camps that received campership funds include Agassiz Village, Poland; Birch Rock Camp, Waterford; Camp Runoia, Belgrade Lakes; Camp Susan Curtis, Portland; Wohelo Camps, Raymond; Camp O-AT-KA, Sebago; Camp Wekeela, Hartford; and Netop Summer Camp, Casco.

More than 100 children will experience the joy of day or overnight camp this summer thanks to the fund. The first-ever Camp Champions Celebration held at Fenway Park last fall raised the funds that will make these summer camp experiences possible.

Plans for the second Camp Champions Celebration are set for the evening of Nov. 1 at Fenway Park’s State Street Pavilion. More information can be found at www.ACANewEngland.org.
