will perform from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, as part of the free, noonday concert series at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.

Later, at 7:30 p.m., cellist Benjamin Noyes will perform.

Stover is organist and director of music at Woodfords Congregational Church in Portland, as well as director of the Portland-based chamber chorus Renaissance Voices. He is also on the faculty of the Portland Conservatory of Music. A  native of Latrobe, Pa., he is a graduate of The Juilliard School in New York.

Stover’s career as an organ recitalist spans more than four decades and includes appearances at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York, the National Cathedral in Washington, Westminster Abbey in London and many other distinguished venues. The New York Times described his performances “a succession of listening pleasures” and praised his “multiplicity of talents.”

Originally from Maine, Noyes studied in Boston and attended the School of the Arts, a magnet high school in San Francisco. After graduating, he was selected by Yo-Yo Ma to perform as soloist and recitalist with the Beijing, Chengdu, Shenzen and Shanghai Symphony orchestras. He received a bachelor’s degree from Rice University and a master’s degree from Northwestern University, playing under numerous maestros. He has won top awards in many competitions.
