LEWISTON — A memorial Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Richard C. Ryder was celebrated Friday by the Rev. Aaron Damboise at Holy Family Church of the Prince of Peace Parish. During the Mass, Richard’s grandson, Matthew Kelley read the New Testament, and Richard’s son-in-law, David Kelley recited the prayer of the faithful. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Richard’s granndaughters, Meaghan and Katherine Kelley. Words of remembrance were shared by Richard’s close friend, Brad Bradbury who was a part of the “Gang.” Following a procession to Gracelawn Memorial Park, Father Damboise recited graveside committal prayers. Following prayers the U.S. Air Force Honor Detail played “taps” and then presented our country’s flag to Richard’s wife, Kathleen in recognition of her husband’s service to his country during the Korean Conflict. The urn bearers were Ryan and Chad Pomerleau, Matthew Kelley and Andrew Ryder. Arrangements by Pinette and Lynch Funeral Home.
