Gendron

LEWISTON — Dolard and Priscilla Gendron of Lewiston, recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. They were married in Lewiston at Saints Peter and Paul Church on June 7, 1947. The church is now known as the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.

The celebration was held Saturday, June 9, at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston. The evening started with a happy hour and before dinner, Msgr. Marc Caron gave the blessing.

There were 265 guests and they were entertained by Roger Renaud and Danny Doucette, who performed as Elvis. There were three lucky ladies who received blue sapphire earrings when their number was drawn and called out.

Mrs. Gendron was presented with a blue sapphire and diamond necklace, given by her husband, Del, the former owner of Gendron and Gendron Construction in Lewiston.

Mrs. Gendron is the former Priscilla Melanson. At their wedding she had one maid of honor and four bridesmaids and a flower girl. The only surviving bridesmaid who attended was a cousin of Mrs. Gendron, Marie Dehetre. The best man, who also attended, was Fern Forgues, cousin of Mr. Gendron.

The couple was blessed with six children, George and wife, Diane; Diane Darling and her husband, Robert; David and his wife, Donna; and Mike. They also had Steven and Celine, who are deceased.

They have 11 grandchildren, Rodney and wife, Kim; Kim Colapietro and husband, Andrew; Todd and his late wife, Kylee; Stacie and husband, Robert; John and wife, Rachel; Shana Lajoie; Mikey; Tracy Turner and husband, Mark; Nichole Woolston and husband, Jared; Steven and Madison. They also have 13 great-grandchildren and two more on the way, Alyssa, Joey, Isabella, Robby, Jessie, Peter, Johnny, Luke, Eric, Will, Gianna, and the newest arrivals, twins, Jackson and Paislee.

Guests attended from Guam, Ohio, Florida, Georgia and Canada.
