It is a problem when the majority of a society believe certain things to be basic human rights but do not receive them.

It is a problem when a very few people profit off the majority of the population getting sick or injured.

It is a problem when the wealthiest 2 percent of society is awarded tax cuts for, well, being wealthy.

This society is Maine, and those human rights are good jobs, health care and education. Those three rights are the pillars of the Maine People’s Alliance’s “Fair Share Economy,” an initiative supported by State Senate candidate John Cleveland.

Those are rights that Maine will have to fight for, and the first step toward obtaining those rights is electing “Fair Share Economy” candidates such as Cleveland.

As a member of the Maine People’s Alliance, I support the “Fair Share Economy.”
