BANGOR — KahBang Festival 2012 will bring the Deftones, Bassnectar, Wale, Penguin Prison, Paper Diamond, Reptar, Astronautalis and dozens more to the waterfront and venues across the city on Aug. 9-12.

More than 70 bands and musicians will perform in and around the festival grounds, with the festival campsite featuring entertainment throughout the four-day event.

Dedicated to the discovery of new music, art and film, the KahBang Festival will present many up-and-coming artists from New England and around the country. This year will feature hip-hop, indie rock, pop and alternative acts.

Throughout the 4th annual summer music event, local bars and venues will host intimate performances of festival artists.

Also as part of the event, the KahBang Art Festival will host events across the city, including 12 galleries; a downtown art walk on Friday, Aug. 10; and installations along the waterfront.
