NORWAY — The Alan Day Community Garden at 26 Whitman St. continues its summer workshops with a focus on preparing “Food From the Garden” presented by Anna Sysko from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 29.
Garden grown vegetables will be prepared on the spot by Sysko. The public is welcome to attend and bring recipes to share. Sysko is known to many in the area for her soups available at Fare Share Market and for cooking at Cafe di Cocoa in Bethel as well as having been formerly at Cafe Nomad in Norway. She currently runs a large greenhouse in Newry in which she grows produce.
This is also an opportunity to visit the community garden and view the newly constructed hoop house built in collaboration with the ADCG by 11 exchange students from Ovieto, Asturias, Spain. The many plots of the community gardeners are also producing bounteously at this point in midsummer and a beautiful sight to see.
This is the eighth workshop in the Alan Day Community Garden series that are all free and open to the public. For further information about this and the others later in the summer visit AlanDayGarden.wordpress.com or call 743-2523.
