LEWISTON — On Friday, July 27, the Lewiston Auburn Art Walk will feature a media arts initiative the public is invited to take part in.

Called L/A Confessional, it is an opportunity for people to answer questions to provide an intimate and honest view of “our community’s perspective about ourselves, our cities and our future.”

Participants will get to choose from 20 questions, displayed on walls at L/A Arts Community Gallery, 221 Lisbon St. They can pick three. Sample questions: What is my biggest fear? The one thing I would tell the world about L/A is …

Responses to each of the three questions, which will be filmed on location, may be a maximum of only one minute. The best will be honest, detailed and story-oriented.

The goal of this collaborative effort between Captive Elements Art House and L/A Arts is to produce a short piece to be shown Sept. 28 at Captive Elements Art House, 223 Lisbon St., at the final Lewiston Auburn Art Walk of the season.

Appointments will be in 15-minute increments. Participants are urged to reserve a time slot in advance. Anyone wanting to do so may contact Kerry Landry ([email protected]) or Carly Bouchard (782-7228; [email protected]).  Participants are required to arrive 10 minutes prior to their reserved time slot or risk losing it.

The July Art Walk Lewiston Auburn will run from 5 to 8:30 p.m. in downtown Lewiston-Auburn. The Downeast Brass will perform at 6 p.m. in Dufresne Plaza, adjacent to 84 Lisbon St.

Artists are encouraged to submit their work for the Aug. 31 art walk. The final deadline is 5 p.m. Aug. 19.
