Lewiston applied for a grant to build a facility to wash buses. Does anyone else believe this is putting the cart before the horse, in a sense?

The buses should run longer hours and have more stops. The cities should invest in more buses and offer better pay for the drivers. Maybe offer a Lewiston Middle School/Lewiston High School stop in the winter for students who live closer to the heart of the city but who are considered within walking distance.

The new stop at Auburn’s municipal beach has been a hit. Let’s bring ridership up so we can truly say that they have been ridden hard and put away dirty before $900,000 is spent to wash them.

In the meantime, get a good garden hose, Lewiston, and focus on the bigger picture.
