Kindle Fire: For New Users & the Inquisitive, 10:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Aug. 7. Instructor: Jeff Auger, CARES Technology. This class will cover Kindle Fire setup, navigation, downloading apps and books, prime membership and watching videos.

Art That Leaves with You!, 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Aug. 14. Instructor: Jim Dunn. Cost: $45 supplies, lesson. No experience necessary. Leave with a 16-by-20 landscape that you did yourself.

Medicare Information, 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15. Instructor: Roland Bussiere, SeniorsPlus. Learn the basics and timelines of this complex system, learn when you need to sign up for what and ways to save money.

Seniors Can Save Lives: American Heart Association Lifesaving Skills, 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16. Instructor: Daphne Russell, AAS/EMT-P, United Ambulance Service. This American Heart Association Family & Friends CPR Course teaches the lifesaving skills of adult CPR, child CPR with breaths and relief of choking in an adult, child or infant.

Reiki: An Introduction, 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22. Instructor: Jeffrey Hotchkiss, Reiki master teacher. Reiki is a gentle, hands-on technique designed to relieve stress and discomfort. Learners are fully clothed as the practitioner’s hands are placed lightly on or near the head, shoulders, arms and legs. Participate or just watch.

What’s Happening to My Body As It Ages? Bones & Joints, 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23. Instructor: Dr. Alan Verrill, CMMC, hospitalist. Learn how to reduce or reverse some of the risks of aging.

Scams and Fraud: How to Protect Yourself, 11 a.m. to noon Friday, Aug. 24. Instructor: Sgt. Lee Jones, Lewiston Police Department. Unethical people have been trained to convince us to give them our money. It happens to smart, intelligent, caring people. Learn how to recognize con artists, telephone scams, repair and utility scams and financial scams.

AARP Safe Driving, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30. Cost: $14, payable to AARP; $12 AARP members; Special: $5 for teachers. Drivers 55 and older who complete this class are eligible for discounts on their auto insurance premiums for three years.

Maine Authors Series, first in a new series. Learn about the authors, their books, writing processes and publishing. Jim Baumer, author of “Moxie: Maine in a Bottle,” 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28.
