Grange food sale Aug. 3

DIXFIELD — Mystic Valley Grange in East Dixfield will hold a public food sale from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3.

A meeting will be at 7 p.m. with potluck supper at 6 before the meeting.

Knights free monthly supper

JAY — This month’s free supper will be held on Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Knights of Columbus hall on Main Street. Doors open at noon and serving is from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Menu will include sweet and sour meatballs, fried rice, garden salad, soup, dessert and beverages. The friend of this month’s supper is the town of Jay.

Carrabassett Summer Fest

CARRABASSETT VALLEY — Festival organizers have announced the 7th annual Carrabassett Valley Summer Festival, which will take place from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at KC’s Kreativity Center, off of the Old Huse Mill Road.

The day’s events feature 17 talented artisans demonstrating and vending their crafts, a variety of children’s fairy houses on display, radio control airplane demonstrations in the morning and plane rides. The Boy Scouts will be serving grilled items for lunch along with their famous lime rickies. The Boy Scouts will also be collecting retired flags for a ceremony that will take place at a later date.

On stage musical performers will include Jay McClure, Jason Mancini, the Steve’s with Mason Strunk, and local recording artist Brian Goss. For more information concerning the upcoming festival contact Karen Campbell at 235-3000.

Garden tour, taste of Rangeley

RANGELEY — The 2012 RFA Home and Garden Tour and Taste of Rangeley will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7.

Homes have been chosen which capitalize on Rangeley and Oquossoc’s beautiful setting of mountains and lakes as well as excellence in architecture, construction and interior decor. The four homes demonstrate an array of life styles which share the common element of a passion for the unique quality of life afforded by Rangeley’s natural beauty and resources.

The tour of homes will culminate at the Bald Mountain Camps with The Taste of Rangeley, an appetizer extravaganza catered by local restaurateurs at 4:15 p.m. More than 12 restaurants will provide appetizers that will delight the festive crowd as they gather to celebrate Rangeley and the quality of life and events we are privileged to enjoy each year.

Henderson lawn, bake sale

FARMINGTON — On Saturday, Aug. 11 the Henderson Memorial Baptist Church will have a lawn and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lots of 25-cent items. Benefits church expenses.

Darlene Phillips benefit

CHESTERVILLE — A benefit supper for Darlene Phillips will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Chesterville Town Hall. Menu is spaghetti, salad and garlic bread. The cost if $5 per person.

Darlene was in a bad car accident on June 11 and has many more medical issues to overcome.

Methodist food sale

STRONG — A food sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Strong Methodist Church.
