AUGUSTA — The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Retired Activities Office has announced the annual Northern New England Military Retiree Activity Day for retired military veterans and/or their loved ones will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at the Augusta Armory.
This event is focused on the needs of military retirees, their families or survivors and is an opportunity to take care of all benefit-related business in one stop on one day.
Legal assistance, veterans homes, VA benefits and cemeteries, DEERS/ID card renewals, health care information and briefings, survivor benefits, commissaries, exchanges, recreation opportunities and a low-cost lunch will be available. All activities are indoors.
The event is free and is sponsored by the Maine National Guard in cooperation with New Hampshire and Vermont National Guard, the Retired Activities Offices at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Fort Drum and Hanscom AFB and the Northern New England Army Retiree Councils.
