PARIS — A charge against Auburn Adult Education Director William Luce has been dismissed after his July 5 arrest for disorderly conduct at the Oxford Casino. Seamus Walsh, who was arrested in the same incident, won’t be charged, either.

The Oxford County District Attorney’s office has declined to charge the two men, according to Suzanna Gallant, a legal secretary in the DA’s office.

Luce and Walsh were arrested July 5 after an altercation at the Oxford Casino. Chief Jon Tibbetts of the Oxford Police Department told the Advertiser-Democrat the men were pushing each other and refused to leave the casino. He said both were intoxicated.

Luce, 63, and Walsh, 53, who each listed his address as 107 Forbes Lane, Windham, were arrested on one count of disorderly conduct.

Luce was formerly an Edward Little High School assistant principal and has been the adult education director in Auburn since 2008.
