The Pickers and Grinners, an eclectic group of musical friends, will bring bluegrass tunes and a sense of humor to the “Music for Mavis” community gazebo in Turner on Tuesday, Aug. 14. Playing at 6:30 p.m. will be Carroll Johnston on fiddle; Carolyn Viger, guitar, mandolin and vocals; “Dr. Becky” Law, guitar and vocals; Holly and Glenn Bowman, banjo, guitar and vocals; Herman LeBlanc, guitar; Red Small, banjo; and John Sparrow, bass. While the concert is free, donations are accepted. Bring a lawn chair.
