MADRID – This year’s Old Home Sunday will celebrate Reeds Mill Church’s 120th birthday on Sunday, Aug. 26.
The church, built in 1892, has undergone a face lift just in time for the celebration; both the interior and exterior have been painted, and a new sign will be in place. All are welcome to this nondenominational “Church in the Wildwood.”
A potluck picnic will be held at noon, rain or shine. Bring a place setting and a dish to share.
The worship service starts promptly at 1. Rev. John Gensel of the Dixfield Congregational Church will be the guest speaker. This is the final summer worship service at Reeds Mill Church this year.
The Reeds Mill Ladies’ Sewing Circle will have recently-made quilts on display.
The remaining “special” gatherings this year include a Hymn Sing on Sept. 9 at 7 p.m., a Thanksgiving service on Nov. 22 at 10 a.m. and a Candlelight Christmas Service on Dec. 23 at 3 p.m. Call Ginni with any questions, 639-2713.
