KINGFIELD — Christie King has been hired by Mt. Abram Regional Health Center and will join them at the end of August as a family nurse practitioner.

King recently completed the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Southern Illinois University and has more than 10 years of nursing experience in hospital settings in various states. She also completed two year-long voluntary deployments in support of the war on terror in Kuwait and Germany as an active duty U.S. Navy Reserve Officer.

King’s areas of expertise include medical-surgical, emergency, maternal-child, orthopedic, traumatic burns and amputation.

King will be joining family nurse practitioner Shannon Doughty.
