LEWISTON — Area artists are invited to submit works for the Art Walk Lewiston Auburn to be held Friday, Oct. 12, as part of the Dempsey Challenge Community Celebration. 

The celebration, planned from 5 to 8:30 p.m., will feature local artwork, musical performances, dance, theater, spoken word and an atmosphere of community collaboration.

The October Art Walk Lewiston Auburn will be centered around the theme of “Hope, Healing and Survival.” Submissions may include paintings, photography, 3-D works, films, live theatrical performances, musical performances, dances, spoken word and poetry. 

Artists submitting pieces, due no later than 5 p.m. Sept. 16 at L/A Arts’ office at 221 Lisbon St., must provide a statement describing their work and how it relates to the central theme.

Poetry, CDs of proposed theatrical, spoken-word and dance performances, and DVDs of film and music should be dropped off or mailed to L/A Arts, DCCC, 221 Lisbon St., Lewiston, ME 04240.
