WATERVILLE — Area residents were among 465 seniors who graduated from Colby College on May 20, receiving bachelor of arts degrees at the outdoor commencement.
As commencement speaker, former British prime minister Tony Blair urged members of the Class of 2012 to continue learning with humility, to maintain an open mind and to serve others.
Hannah C. DeAngelis of Readfield, the daughter of Steven DeAngelis and Tara Wicks of Readfield, majored in anthropology and is a graduate of Maranacook Community School.
Kristen J. Erickson of Auburn, the daughter of David and Jane Erickson of Auburn, majored in psychology with a neuroscience concentration and is a graduate of Edward Little High School.
Lauren M. Kerr of Farmington, the daughter of Robert and Kathleen Kerr of Farmington, majored in global studies and is a graduate of Mount Blue High School.
Sierra N. Medling of Farmington, the daughter of Christine Tropeano of Farmington and Tracy Medling of Anson, majored in religious studies and is a graduate of Mount Blue High School.
Greg E. Merritt of Auburn, the son of Gerald and Anita Merritt of Auburn, majored in mathematical sciences and physics and is a graduate of Edward Little High School.
Jason M. Parrett of Stratton, the son of Stephen Parrett and Ann Kessler-Parrett of Stratton, majored in economics and Russian language and culture and is a graduate of Mount Abram Regional High School.
Samuel D. West of Wilton, the son of Ralph and Lesley West of Wilton, majored in history and is a graduate of Kents Hill School.
