Seniors meets to resume
LIVERMORE FALLS — The Jay Livermore Falls Seniors will resume their weekly Monday meetings at noon Monday, Sept. 10, with a potluck lunch.
All members are encouraged to bring a hot dish, salad, chips, pickles, vegetables soda, etc to share with the group. The dessert will be a birthday cake made by Nancy Couture, which will be served with ice cream.
All members are encouraged to attend this first meeting as the revised by-laws will be proposed.
Members who have volunteered to bake for the Helaina Lake fundraiser to be held at the Amvets on Saturday, Aug. 25, are reminded to bring their goodies to the Amvets hall in the early afternoon. Anyone who is unable to deliver their desserts or would like more information may call Fernande Doiron at 897-2782.
Anyone who lives in the area and is 55 or over is invited to attend the meetings held every Monday at Murray Hall in Livermore Falls.
Mt. Blue school changes
FARMINGTON — Changes have been announced at the Mt. Blue Campus this fall. There has been a schedule change district-wide for students in grades 7-12. The school day will start 10 minutes earlier than last year, 7:45 instead of 7:55, and will end 10 minutes earlier as well, 1:50 instead of 2. This will impact bus pick up and drop off times.
Freshman orientation day will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 29. Letters have been sent to ninth-graders with details on the structure of the day. Thursday, Aug. 30 will be the first day for all students.
There is also a new traffic flow, including parking areas, bus pick up and drop off, student pick up and drop off, visitor parking and staff and student entrances.
Jay Grange public supper
JAY — A public supper will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at the North Jay Grange No. 10. Menu will be baked beans, casseroles, salads, meatballs, coleslaw, rolls, beverages and dessert. Adults $7, child 10 under $3. For information call 645-4628, 645-2910 or 645-4211.
Mt. Blue tailgate party
FARMINGTON — The 16th annual Mt. Blue Football Tailgate Party will be held before the Madison Varsity football game on Friday, Sept. 7, at Kemp Field. The menu includes half chicken meal for $6.50, a quarter pound hamburg or two hot dogs each for $5. All meals include cole slaw, chips, a brownie and a drink. Food will be served between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.
Seating is available. Tickets are available to purchase from all Mt. Blue High School football players or they can be purchased at Madore’s Market in West Farmington and Shelly’s Hometown Market in East Wilton. Tickets may be available at the event but advanced purchase is advised.
All proceeds benefit the Mt. Blue High School Program.
