WILTON — The Maine Forest Service in cooperation with the Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District will be holding an invasive plant identification and control workshop from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at the Wilton Town office on Route 156. An outside part of the session will take place on the Pond Road.
This training will help participants identify common upland invasive plants common to Maine’s forests develop mechanical and chemical control strategies for invasive plants.
Anyone with an interest in invasive plants is encouraged to attend.
Ann Gibbs, state horticulturist, will have a presentation on invasive plant identification issues and the control of invasive plants. Patty Cormier, of the Maine Forest Service, will serve as facilitator.
Bring appropriate field gear for forecasted weather conditions for the outside portion.

Name, address, phone number, email and number of participants should be sent with a check for $15 per person made out to FCSWCD and mailed to Franklin County SWCD, 107 Park St., Farmington, ME 04938.
Continuing education credits may be available as follows: Maine Pesticide Applicator, three hours, and Maine Licensed Forester, 2.5 Category 1 SFEs.
