LIVERMORE FALLS — Police say a local woman faces a charge of driving under the influence after she crashed her vehicle into a utility pole early Friday morning.

Heather Hemminger, 23, went off the road striking the pole at about 12:40 a.m. Friday at the corner of Heritage and Jones streets, Police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.

She received face and head injuries and was transported to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington by NorthStar ambulance, he said. The injuries were not severe, he added.

A blood test was done and police charged her, he said.

A person in the neighborhood called police after the single vehicle accident.

Members of Livermore Falls Fire Department, NorthStar ambulance and Livermore Falls Police Department responded to the call.
