PERU — Kenneth Melvin Gill, 79, of Auburn Road, Peru, died early Monday, Aug. 27, at his home.
He was born in Peru, Sept. 23, 1933, a son of Duncan and Lucille (Vaughn) Gill and received his education at the West Peru School and graduated from Stephens High School in 1951.
Mr. Gill worked at Boise Cascade in Rumford, retiring in 1991. On Sept. 24, 1955, he married Beatrice Touchette. She died May 19, 2009.
He enjoyed following NASCAR racing.
He is survived by his children, Kenneth D. Gill and his wife, Judy, Larry P. Dill, and Ricky A. Dill, all of Peru, and Vicki Gill of Rumford; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marion Wyman of Smithfield and Jean Worthly of Peru; and a brother, Robert Gill of Rumford.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Ernest and Harold.
