HARTFORD — An early morning blaze destroyed a Town Farm Road truck Saturday and damaged a home, but no injuries were reported.

Fire crews from Hartford, Canton, Sumner, Buckfield and Turner got the fire under control before it damaged the home beyond repair, Hartford Fire Warden Norm St. Pierre said.

The truck, belonging to Jeremy Johnson, was destroyed.

“It was totally gutted and all of his tools, as well,” St. Pierre said.

He said the fire started in the bed of the truck at about 2 a.m. and soon spread to the home at 524 Town Farm Road while the family inside slept.

“It burned a spare bedroom and part of the living room and got up into the roof,” St. Pierre said. “That’s where the firefighters were able to stop it, so it’s still salvageable.”

Crews had the fire under control within two hours.

St. Pierre said the cause of the fire was unknown, and he was expecting the State Fire Marshal’s office to investigate Tuesday.
