MEXICO — Region 9 Adult Education has announced their early fall classes.

Academic classes: The Adult Education program will have open enrollment on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 4-6, from 8 a.m. to noon. Anyone wishing to enroll in academic programs, which  include GED preparation, high school diploma, literacy or college preparation classes, is welcome to come in and complete the necessary paperwork during these times. Day time classes will start Monday, Sept. 10. All paperwork for new and returning students must be done prior to enrolling. Night school will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting on Sept. 18 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Biology class: This basic biology course will offer an overview of life and the environment including the scientific method, the five kingdoms, genetics and human anatomy. This class will be offered via Tamberg through Turner Adult Education. Students may have a one-day lab session on a Saturday. The course runs on Tuesdays starting Sept. 11 through Dec. 18 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The course is equivalent to one high school credit in biology. The cost is $100.

College math success classes: These classes are for anyone interested in going to college or in college and struggling with math. These classes will be geared to helping individuals increase their math abilities and gain confidence in their math skills to pass the Accuplacer tests for admission into college level math courses. Sponsored by the Financial Authority of Maine to help increase the number of Maine residents who enter and complete college. The orientation meeting for this program will be Monday, Sept. 17, at 6 p.m. at Region 9 Adult Education.

Yoga: Take some time each week to relax and feel great for the rest of the week. Classes will start Wednesday, Sept. 12, and run through Oct. 17 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sandy Conley will be the instructor. Call 364-2012 to sign up. Cost is $35.
