An open house reception to welcome Megan Roberts and her art will be held at SugarWood Gallery, 248 Broadway, Farmington from 4 to 8 p.m.  Friday, Sept. 7 and from 11 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept.  8. The public is invited.

Megan is a fifth-generation Mainer who loves the beauty and diversity of Maine. For over 30 years she has worked throughout the country in the ski industry, but always seems to come home to Maine. Most of her paintings reflect her love of nature and the stillness that it provides. ” I love the way you never know what is going to happen with watercolors — sometimes wonderful surprises appear and at other times I wonder what happened,”  Roberts said.

Roberts has taken classes with a number of teachers throughout the years, and appreciates their wonderful suggestions, ideas, and patience.

Megan lives on Voter Hill in Farmington, where she looks out at the mountains that she loves to hike and ski. She also enjoys writing, doing historical research, travel, and most outside activities.

Roberts’  work will remain on display and for sale at SugarWood Gallery through the month of September. Store hours are 10 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 to 4 on Saturday and Sunday.

Roberts’ work can be seen on SugarWood’s website at sugarwoodgallery.com/store/manufacturer/megan-roberts
