SOUTH PARIS — Rufus S. Rich, 75, of Lisbon, died Friday, Aug. 31, at the Maine Veterans’ Home.

He was born in Upton, Dec. 18, 1936, the son of Ralph and Louise (Dickinson) Rich and graduated from Bridgewater High School, Bridgewater, Mass. He also had served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1959.

Rufus was a truck driver and construction worker for many years, until retirement and had served as an EMT with the Dresden Fire Department.

Survivors include a sister, Dinah Clark and husband, William, of East Wareham, Mass.; a nephew, Matthew Zimmerman of Massachusetts; several distant relatives; and his close friend, the Rev. Jane Rich of Andover.
