FARMINGTON — Twenty-eight applications have been received for the position of deputy director of the Franklin County Emergency Management Agency, Clerk Julie Magoon said.
She believes five applicants will be interviewed, she said. Two applications arrived after the Aug. 28 deadline and are not being considered, Magoon said.
The position was left vacant when Deputy Director Olive Toothaker of Wilton retired on July 31.
The five people serving on the interview team are EMA Director Tim Hardy, EMA special projects coordinator Sylvia Yeaton, Magoon, Farmington Fire Rescue Chief Terry Bell, and Farmington Fire Rescue Deputy Chief Clyde Ross. Ross is also the public information officer for the county.
Magoon said interviews are expected to begin the week of Sept. 10.
“There are some very, very qualified individuals,” Magoon told county commissioners Tuesday.
