Author to Speak at Ricker Library
John Ford kept a diary over the twenty years he was a member of
the Maine Warden Service. “I’ve enjoyed my front row seat to life”,
he writes, “I got to see the very best of my neighbors and, at times,
the very worst. That diary became the basis for his recently released
book, Suddenly the Cider Didn’t Taste So Good, The Adventures of a Game
Warden in Maine. Ford will share stories from the book with a Person
to Person audience in Poland.
Person to Person is a monthly series of potluck/programs planned to
provide opportunity for neighbors and friends to enjoy a meal, some
socializing, and a program together. It is sponsored by Friends of
Ricker Library. The September Person to Person will be held in the
Poland Library’s Community Room on Sunday, September 9, from
5:30 to 7:30pm. The evening will begin with a potluck supper and
conversation hour, followed at 6:30, by John Ford’s talk about his
adventures on the job.
Everyone is invited. There is no charge, but supper guests are asked
to bring a casserole, salad or dessert for the potluck meal.
