HAVERHILL, Mass. — In early Valley League AAA action, the Maine Renegades Peewee 1 hockey team split its games this past weekend.
The first game was a 6-1 victory over the Nashua Panthers. Cam Niven got the Rens on the board with an unassisted goal late in the first period. The team never looked back and and scored the next five goals before the Panthers got on the scoreboard late in the third period.
Rounding out the scoring were Chandler Bilodeau (two goals), Caden Smith, Thomas Levasseu, and Ridge Field. Brandon Michaud had to assists with Smith, and Colby Anton collecting one apiece.
Game 2 of the day was a tough 2-0 loss to Saugus-Lynnfield. The Renegades put plenty of pressure on the goaltender but could not find the back of the net.
The team is back in action Sept. 22.
