LEWISTON — Mystery for Hire will return to Marco’s Restaurant for a series of mystery dinner theater shows starting Friday, Sept. 14, with a performance of “Show Biz Can Be Murder.”

“We’ve decided to perform our mystery shows at Marco’s once again,” said Dan Marois, who along with his wife, Denise Marois, has produced more than 470 mystery shows.

Audience members are encouraged to take notes as they watch the mystery unfold while being served a three-course meal. At the end of the evening, the person who most correctly guesses whodunit is declared the eveing’s super sleuth.

“What we do is pure fun,” Marois said. “It is a great combination of dining out and seeing a show at the same time. In this show, we have an extra added feature where audience members can sign up to participate in a Hollywood audition as part of the show.”

Unlike a more formal show where actors perform on a stage, mystery-themed dinner theater is performed among the guests throughout the entire dining room.

In “Show Biz Can Be Murder,” guests become part of the action at a big Hollywood audition where an announcement will be made about a major motion picture about to be cast. “Let’s just say that things don’t go according to plan,” Marois said.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m. with the show at 7 p.m. For reservations, call 783-0336 or purchase tickets at Marco’s. The cost, $39.95 per person, includes the mystery show, dinner, tax and gratuity. For more information, visit www.mysteryforhire.com.
