Library lists teen room hours

NORWAY — Area teens in grades 7-12 are encouraged to take advantage of after-school offerings at the Norway Memorial Library. The Teen Room is open every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 5 p.m.

Teens may relax, hang out with friends, use the public access computer or take advantage of the Wi-Fi hotspot. There are always crafts and games available. The Teen Room is a snack designated zone.

Teens are welcome to laugh, talk, read, write, use the poetry pillars, create a take home craft project or play games either in pairs or as a group. Some teens choose to use the time to finish homework, research and get caught up on class reading.

Teens may also want to participate in leadership building activities such as the Teen Readers Advisory Committee and TAG, You’re It!, a teen driven, teen led group that sets its own project goals. Teens who are interested in journalism can help write, edit and plan the NML Teen Times newsletter.

For information on how to get involved, contact Cynthia Riley, teen services coordinator at the Norway Memorial Library, at 743-5309 or norteen@norway.lib.me.us.
