Sixty-seven points against Gorham?  We aren’t running the BCS here, so Trojans stay second. But yes, we’re impressed to say the least.

3. Lawrence (2-0)

If that was the last game in the history of the Lawrence-Bangor football rivalry of convenience, Bulldogs delivered the parting shot of a lifetime.

4. Leavitt (2-0)

Hornets are having phenomenal quarters and sluggish quarters. Hard to quibble with that, given a young team in a conference in which it has few peers.

5. Brunswick (2-0)

Jared Jensen still on pace to rush for more than 3,000 yards and 40 touchdowns.

6. Mt. Blue (2-0)

Don’t be fooled by the Cougars giving up 50 points in two weeks. Five of those seven touchdowns were scored in garbage time.

Beware the Eagles’ special teams: They returned two blocked punts for touchdowns against Noble.

8. Messalonskee (2-0)

Early in the season Eagles doing what they’ve done best for several seasons: Wear opponents down.

9. Westbrook (2-0)

Blue Blazes finally getting a chance to pick on schools their own size and smaller.

10. Scarborough (2-0)

Windham, Deering and Thornton coming up right in a row will tell us if Red Storm are for real or for REAL.
