FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Office of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, at 138 Pleasant St., is offering a three-hour Food Preservation Workshop from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27. Felicia Dumont, Cooperative Extension food preservation program aide, will be teaching the class. Cost is $15.
The workshop will teach the basics of pickling and freezing. Bring a potholder to the workshop. Fresh produce and canning jars will be provided.
Preregistration and prepayment is required. The maximum number of workshop participants is 10. The minimum number needed to hold the workshop is eight. The deadline to register is Sept. 21. Contact Carol Ross at 778-4650 or 1-800-287-1478 (in Maine) or [email protected].
