LEWISTON — Athala C. Overholser, 91, died on Saturday, Sept. 15, at Montello Manor.

Athala was born in Lewiston, April 5, 1921, the daughter of Leda and Appolinaire’ (Jutras) Cote.

Athala and her husband worked as house parents in schools for the deaf. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading and travel. She was a communicant at St. Louis Parish in Auburn.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Overholser; sister-in-law, Connie Cote; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers; and six sisters.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sarah Frye Home and also the Rev. Roger Cousineau and his wife, Barbara, for their loving care for Athala.
