Arts, crafts group to meet Sept. 25

FARMINGTON — The first fall meeting of the Franklin County Arts and Crafts Association will be held Tuesday, Sept. 25, at the University of Maine at Farmington North Dining Hall to begin plans for its annual Christmas show.

Now in its 41st year, FCACA is made up of area artists and craftspeople. The Christmas show will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, at the UMF Student Center.

Tuesday’s meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. for fair registrations and paying dues, followed by a business session at 7. New members are welcome.

Jay High School Class of 1955

JAY — There will be a reunion for the Jay High School Class of 1955 during a lunch at noon, Friday, Sept. 28, at LaFleur’s Restaurant on Main Street.

If members can make it, they are asked to call Joyce Couture at 897-8383 earlier that week.

Nelson Collins benefit supper

FARMINGTON — The Farmington Falls Fire Company is sponsoring a benefit supper for Nelson Collins from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, in the Farmington Falls Fire Station.

The menu consists of baked beans, casseroles, American chop suey, rolls, pickles, pies, coffee, milk and fruit punch. Donations are welcome. For information call 778-6221.

Adult ed art classes

WILTON — Mt. Blue RSD Adult & Community Education Art has scheduled two art classes with art instructor Barbara Hathaway, “Painter of Sunsets.”

Acrylic painting starts Monday, Oct. 1, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Art of water color starts Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Both classes are at the Hathaway Art Studio, 32 Maple St. The five-session classes are for beginners to semi-pro. Students will learn how to make beautiful clouds and reflections through demos and practice of techniques.
