PARIS — Antique, classic and hot-rod owners are planning to “Cruise In” to allow a rare look at their cars on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School parking lot.

Many very unusual cars will be on display, such as a 1952 Citroen Traction Avant 11CV. It is known for revolutionizing automobile manufacturing; it made automobiles affordable and practical for ordinary people in Europe in the 1900s.

Hamburgers, hot dogs and other refreshments, including baked goods, will be on sale. There will be a 50/50 raffle and other give-aways. A DJ will be providing music from the 1950s and 1960s.

All old car owners are welcome to put their cars on display. There is no registration fee. Donations are welcome.

The event is sponsored by the Mount Washington Old Car Club and the OHCHS French Club. Proceeds from the sale of food and raffle tickets will benefit the French Club’s trip to France in April. Students are preparing to visit the region of Normandy, including World War II sites like the D-Day beaches. Following a few days there, they will visit Chartres Cathedral and a Loire Valley castle, then finish up their eight-day tour visiting museums and sightseeing in Paris.
