ABC Music & Me, with Sarah Porter, licensed Kindermusik educator. Preschoolers ages 2 to 5 and their parents will experience the power of music in their child’s development. Songs, instrument exploration and imaginative play activities are all designed to help develop fundamental skills in motor movement, language, literacy, social and emotional skills. Fridays, Oct. 19 through Nov. 9, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. $10 per parent/child pair.

Career Awareness, with Katie Paiton. Learn about communication styles and habits of mind that may prevent you from achieving your dream. Find out what’s not working for you and take some steps to change it. Tuesdays, Oct. 9, 16 and 23 from 1 to 3 p.m. $10.

Exploring Career Options, with Katie Paiton. Are you trying to find your niche or thinking about making a career change? Our career adviser will help you to identify characteristics that make you unique and find out how they align to different career paths. Tuesdays, Sept. 25 and Oct. 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. $10.

Fitness For Life, with Deb Conway. Step aerobics and resistance exercises for cardio, tone, strength and overall fitness. All ages and abilities are welcome to attend this challenging class. Six-week ongoing session started Wednesday, Sept. 12, but drop-ins may attend for $5 per week. Class runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room at Poland Community School. Forensics, with Fred Jordan, M.D. Another look into Forensics with Fred, the popular local forensic pathologist who spent many years in Oklahoma. He was there at the time of the Oklahoma City bombing and will share some of his insight on his involvement in the investigation that followed. May contain graphic images and descriptions. Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 6  to 8 p.m. $5.

For the Love of Horses, by Roux Camp, horse education for people. General information on basic horse keeping and state requirements for the first time horse owner or for someone who is interested in becoming an active member of the equine world. Thursday, Oct. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. $6.

Hand-Stamped Cards, with Michelle Breton, Stampin’ Up! consultant with 15 years of experience making her own personal, hand-made greeting cards. Participants will make a set of four easy, beautiful Christmas cards using rubber stamps. No prior stamping experience necessary. Choose between Thursday, Oct. 4, or Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 6 to 8 p.m., or both. Each class will complete a different set of cards. $10 includes materials.

Head Injuries and Concussions, with Tim Beagan, athletic trainer, Richard Bader Physical Therapy. Concerned about your child playing contact sports? Beagan will educate participants on prevention and evaluation of head injuries and concussions. The class is designed to help parents and family members recognize concussions and help to prevent reoccurance. Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. $5.

Job Search, Resumes and Interview Skills, with Mary Kozicki LaFontaine. Learn how to stand out in a positive way by marketing yourself, in person and on paper, in a way that directly matches employer needs. Kozicki, former HR professional and currently the manager at Lew­iston Career Center, will provide in-depth exploration on job searches, resumes, applications and interviews. Bring your resume with you for review on the second night and get the chance to ask questions specific to your individual needs. Thursdays, Nov. 1 and 8, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. $5. Knitters’ Night Out, with Patricia Demers. The group meets weekly and is designed for the person who knows how to knit but would like to learn more or needs help with a project, as well as for the experienced knitter who enjoys sharing and socializing with others. Bring your current project. Ongoing Thursdays through Dec. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. Registration is $5 due the first of each month. Start anytime.

Organize Your Business, with Shannon Dalton. This class is designed to assist small and new business owners reorganize their financial information and facilitate time management in a comfortable, friendly and informal setting. Learn about several types of financial recording software, and get lots of great workplace ideas and tips from the owner of Get It Straight. Tuesday, Oct. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. $5.

Social Networking Basics, with Linda Chaisson, technology coordinator for RSU 16. What does it mean to “like” someone on Facebook? What is a Tweet? How do I Skype with someone in another part of the world? What is MySpace? Similar to email and instant messaging, these are all examples of social networking services that people use to be in touch with one another via the Internet. Learn about social networking and how you might use it, as well as ramifications of social networking such as privacy issues. Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. $5.

Solar Technologies and Building a Solar Heater, with Bruce Sturgis. Learn how to start saving with solar. Get information on solar hot air, hot water and electric system technologies: how they work, how much they cost and how much they can save. Solar hot air is the cheapest solar technology to implement and manage with the quickest savings payback. A panel will be on display along with the plans and a parts list. Thursday, Oct. 11, 6 to 8:30 p.m. $8.

Starting Your Own Business, with Shirley Hamilton. This introductory three-hour workshop will walk you through the pros and cons of owning your own business. Learn the steps to getting started and the major elements of a business plan. You will also be provided with a list of resources available in the area. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. $5.

Wedding Planning, with Shannon Dalton. Organize your dream wedding realistically. From budget and preplanning to etiquette, traditions and wedding day details, this class will touch on it all. Thursday, Nov. 15, 6 to 8 p.m. $5.

Women’s Self Defense, with Tony Bennett, founder of the Bennett Karate Dojo in Poland. A personal safety course for women aimed at increasing awareness and prevention as well as teaching basic self-defense techniques. Wear comfortable clothing. Mondays, Oct. 15, 22 and 29, from 6 to 7 p.m. $15.

Workstation Ergonomics, with Paul Fecteau, physical therapist at Richard Bader Physical Therapy. Do you experience back, neck or wrist discomfort after working at your computer or laptop? Overuse injuries can develop as a result of a poorly set up workstation. Fecteau will provide guidelines and helpful tips for setting up your home computer workstation correctly. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 1 to 2 p.m. $5.
