Elks plan Texas hold ’em
FARMINGTON — A Texas hold ’em tournament will take place Friday, Sept. 28, at the Farmington Elks Lodge, 120 School St. Registration is at 6 p.m., game will start at 6:30. $55 buy in, 75 percent cash return.

Wilton Library Harvest Day
WILTON — On Saturday, Sept. 29, there will be a Harvest Day at the Wilton Free Public Library. It will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Sen. Tom Saviello will be there to teach kids about apples and show them how to use a cider press. Rep. Russell Black will be teaching the kids about bees and the process of making honey. Jessica Lewis of Inch by Inch Childcare in Wilton will be there for face painting. There will also be snacks and a book sale.
Children and parents are welcome to dress in “harvest” attire (farmers, cowboys, bees, pumpkins, etc.) if they so choose.
Adult ed art classes
WILTON — Mt. Blue RSD Adult & Community Education Art has scheduled two art classes with art instructor Barbara Hathaway, “Painter of Sunsets.”
Acrylic painting starts Monday, Oct. 1, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Art of water color starts Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Both classes are at the Hathaway Art Studio, 32 Maple St. The five-session classes are for beginners to semi-pro. Students will learn how to make beautiful clouds and reflections through demos and practice of techniques.

Ladies/Community breakfast Oct. 3
RANGELEY — The next Ladies/Community Breakfast with everyone invited to attend will be on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Moosely Bagels on Main Street, from 7 to 9 a.m.
