JAY — A Farmington man was injured Wednesday morning when his motorcycle went off Hyde Road and into the woods, officer Russell Adams said.
The shield on Tor Goettsche’s helmet was fogging up and he was opening and closing it to keep it clear when the 2001 Yamaha went off the road on a sharp corner at about 5:55 a.m., he said. The bike and Goettsche hit some trees, Adams said.
Goettsche complained of hip pain and was taken by a NorthStar Emergency Medical Services ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. He was later transferred to Maine Medical Center in Portland, an FMH spokeswoman said.
Jay Fire Rescue Department assisted Adams at the crash site.
The motorcycle was destroyed, Adams said.
