Oceanside 1, Leavitt 0

TURNER — McKenna Brooks tapped in a rebound midway through the first half as Oceanside held on for a 1-0 victory in a KVAC girls’ soccer tilt.

Despite only getting five shots on goal, Brooks was able to beat Leavitt (2-7-1)  goalie Andrea Daigle for the game’s only score. Leavitt held the advantage in both shots, 6-5, and corners, 4-2, but could not find the back of the net. Oceanside’s (7-2-1) Kennadi Grover stopped all five shots on goal that she faced in the shutout.

Field hockey

Spruce Mountain 8, Boothbay 0

JAY — Erin Gats popped in a pair of goals and Spruce Mountain (9-1-1) erupted with five in the first half and rolled to a lopsided 8-0 victory over Boothbay in a field hockey game Friday.

Everybody got into the act on offense for the Phoenix. Kayla Meserve, Rachel Calden, Randi Duguay, Nicole Hamblin, Jordan Seitz and Ashlee Robbins each scored a goal, with teammates Demi Dube, Mariah Castonguay and Meserve picking up assists.

Spruce Mountain goalie Case Richards had to make only three saves and the Phoenix outshot Boothbay, 21-3.

Lisbon 3, Dirigo 1

LISBON — Junior forward Hanna Jordan drained two goals in the pouring rain to lift Lisbon to a 3-1 victory over Dirigo in MVC field hockey action Friday.

The Greyhounds (10-0-1) led 2-1 at the midpoint, and added an insurance goal in the second frame. Bailey Cutler pitched in with a goal and two assists.

Goalie Amanda Dolloff made eight saves for Dirigo, while goalie Stevie Charest prevented two to earn the win in net for Lisbon.
