TURNER – The North Turner Union Presbyterian Church has announced that the Rev. Lissa E. Bradford has become their new pastor and they are inviting residents of Turner and the surrounding communities to an open house in her honor.

The public is invited to the open house, which is planned as a meet-and-greet reception on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Nezinscot Masonic Lodge, 92 Weston Road.

“I am new to the North Turner community and I am looking forward to saying ‘hello’ to new friends and to hearing from them about some of the spiritual care and support concerns our church can help to ease in the area,” Bradford said. “We are excited to see what God has planned for our ministry.”

Bradford and the congregation are also planning the event as an opportunity to let community members know about the activities of the church, the outreach programs that are ongoing as well as future programs that are in the planning stage. Input from those attending will be greatly appreciated about needs they may see in the community and programs that might address those needs and/or improvements that could be made to existing programs.

Bradford is a 2003 graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Calif. She completed a clinical pastoral education residency at Maine Medical Center in Portland in 2005. Bradford was ordained by the Presbytery of the Pacific in Los Angeles in 2008.

Bradford joins NTUPC while she continues her work for Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice as a chaplain, based in the Norway and Bridgton offices and at the Hospice House in Auburn.

Light refreshments will be served. For more information or questions call 224-7461 or 225-3370.
