In 1986, Earle’s debut album, “Guitar Town,” shot to No. 1 on the country charts and immediately established the term “new country.” What followed was a varied array of releases, including the biting hard rock of “Copperhead Road;” the minimalist beauty of “Train A Comin’;” the politically charged “Jerusalem;” and Grammy Award-winning albums, “The Revolution Starts … Now ,” “Washington Square Serenade” and “Townes.”
Earle’s 14th studio album, “I’ll Never Get Out Of This World Alive,” released in 2011, was titled after a Hank Williams song and deals with questions of mortality. The album garnered both Emmy and Grammy Award nominations.
