Singer-songwriter Melody Walker will perform Friday, Oct. 12, at She Doesn’t Like Guthries in Lewiston. Walker, who hails from the San Francisco Bay area, and picker Jacob Groopman of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia fuse their influences into a style they call “Americali.” They create music that honors tradition, yet sounds completely of the moment, drawing from bluegrass, rock, jazz, classical, Afrobeat, samba and Balkan folk. On Walker’s debut album, “Gold Rush Goddess,” the couple sing of ancient truths and futuristic myths. The show will begin at 8 p.m. No cover charge.
