Former Gov. Angus King saved 400 jobs at Tambrands in Auburn when he offered state incentives to company officials who were going to close the plant in 1995.

His administration later approved a certificate of need, enabling CMMC in Lewiston to expand and open the new Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute.

And in his last year he intervened in the negotiations with Walmart corporate officials who decided to locate the Walmart Distribution Center here in Lewiston, creating 800 new jobs.

During the King years, 74,900 new jobs were created statewide and 5,600 in the L-A area.

Washington is broken. The party politicians can’t find any middle ground and get nothing done.

King is a proven leader for jobs, health care, education and the environment. Electing independent Angus King to the U.S. Senate would send a message to the rest of the country.

He doesn’t make promises; he delivers.
