CHESTERVILLE — The Chesterville Heritage Society will hold an October open house at the future Chesterville History museum, in the old fire station building at the center of Chesterville. From 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 20, members of the society will be on site to provide tours and information regarding progress on the project, which has been ongoing for the past few years and is now nearing completion.
Refreshments will be served, and the museum sign will be unveiled at 10 a.m. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call Linda at 778-2863.
Later that day, Heritage Society members will serve their annual Harvest Supper at the Chesterville Town Hall from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Turkey, stuffing, gravy, potatoes, squash, peas, onions, cranberry sauce, pickled beets, dill pickles, apple crisp, cider, punch and coffee will be on the menu.
A pie contest will be held, with entries in the three categories of pumpkin, apple and custard. All pies will be auctioned off to raise funds for the museum. Participants may enter as many pies as they desire, but must be Chesterville residents; part-time residents included. For pie contest details, contact Razell at 578-8100.
Prices for the Harvest Supper will be $7 per adult and $4 for children ages 4 to 10. Residents and non-residents alike are welcome.
